The Candela P-12 is our latest innovation - the world’s first electric hydrofoil ferry is not just operating in Stockholm, but now attracting orders from around the world.
Our boats “fly” thanks to computer-guided underwater wings under the hull made out of lightweight carbon fiber. The wings lift the vessel above the water, which results in cutting energy use by up to 80%, while offering zero emissions and a far better passenger experience than traditional diesel vessels.

You can be part of the amazing team in Candela now! We are looking for a Director of Corporate Finance & Treasury to support Candela’s future growth ambitions.

Purpose and Goals:
As Director of Corporate Finance & Treasury, you are responsible for securing and structuring Candela’s funding to enable global scale-up. Your primary mission is to source funding across leasing structures, debt, equity and guarantees, enabling production ramp-up, vessel financing and international expansion.

You are responsible for designing and executing Candela’s financing strategy, managing liquidity and financial risk, and acting as the main interface towards banks, lenders, investors and public financing institutions. The role is highly strategic but also hands-on, requiring strong execution capability in a capital-intensive and fast-scaling environment. You work closely with the CFO, CEO, Legal and Sales to ensure financing solutions are aligned with commercial contracts, production plans and long-term strategy.

Responsibilities
Fundraising & Capital Structure

• Drive and execute equity fundraising processes in close collaboration with the CEO (owner) and CFO (sponsor), including preparation of materials, financial models, data rooms, investor coordination and transaction workstreams.

• Translate strategic objectives into executable funding plans, timelines and structures across equity, debt and hybrid instruments.

• Develop and maintain Candela’s capital structure strategy, balancing growth needs, cost of capital, dilution and financial risk.

• Prepare financing proposals and decision material for Executive Management and Board discussions.

Debt, Leasing & Asset Financing

• Structure and execute debt, leasing and asset-backed financing, including project finance and vessel leasing programs.

• Lead financing structures involving guarantees and credit insurance (e.g. EKN and similar institutions).

• Source, qualify and manage equipment / aircraft-style finance providers for capital-intensive assets.

• Ensure financing structures are aligned with production plans, customer contracts and delivery milestones.

Trade Finance & Commercial Support

• Support the sales organization with trade finance solutions, guarantees and payment structures to reduce customer credit risk and improve payment precision.

Treasury & Banking

• Own Candela’s treasury setup, including banking structure, liquidity management and cash runway.

• Manage bank relationships, loan facilities and ongoing lender communication.

• Own covenant monitoring, reporting and compliance across all debt facilities.

• Coordinate short- and medium-term liquidity planning together with the finance team
  
  Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Engineering or equivalent.

• 8+ years of experience in treasury, corporate finance, structured finance, investment banking, project finance or fundraising.

• Proven track record of executing equity raises and complex debt / leasing transactions.

• Strong understanding of guarantees, credit insurance and asset-backed financing.

• Solid financial modelling skills with focus on cash flow, debt, liquidity and scenario analysis.

• Experience interacting with senior stakeholders: banks, investors, public financing institutions and boards.

• Fluent in English (Swedish is a strong plus).
