What's your role at Candela?
My role in Candela is as Accounting Manager, meaning my role is to make sure that all the numbers in the balance sheet as well as profit and loss statement is correct. I'm responsible for all monthly closings and the annual closing of books and creating the Annual Report.
How does your role impact Candela's mission?
I would say that my role is a lot "back-stage", meaning that as long as everything is done in time, no-one tends to notice me, but if something goes wrong, you can tell. The annual report is more important than one might think. A lot of stakeholders tend to base their decisions on the annual report, like investors, suppliers, customers, even employees. So it's really important that the numbers are correct and that it paints an accurate picture of Candela.
What would you tell someone who's thinking about joining the team?
Do it! You're in for a ride! Some days the waters are calm and the ride smooth, and some days it can be a bit stormy, but that's part of living on the sea and what makes it so fun! There are a lot of great colleagues that are incredibly talented and kind.
