As an engineer, it’s a privilege to work on a product that brings together so many advanced technologies and has the potential to change how we travel on water,
Ananthakrishnan Viswambharan Krishnan Nair, Quality Engineer
What’s your journey at Candela been like?
I’m currently working as a Quality Technician, covering both Incoming Quality Control and Production Quality. I joined Candela two years ago as a Mechanic Assembler and spent my first six months on the production line, working on the Candela C-8 and gaining hands-on experience with our products and manufacturing processes.
After that, I joined the Quality team, where I worked with several departments to ensure supplier parts and production met our quality standards. Today, my role is expanding into Production Quality and Quality Engineering. It’s been a rewarding journey of continuous learning, growth, and new responsibilities.
What do you enjoy working with Candela?
One of the things I enjoy most about working at Candela is being part of a company that is creating a truly innovative product with the potential to transform the future of sustainable transportation. Knowing that our work contributes to a more environmentally friendly way of moving people on water is both motivating and rewarding.
Another aspect I highly appreciate is the company's culture. Regardless of role or hierarchy, people at Candela are approachable, supportive, and willing to help. If you are proactive and willing to ask questions or seek support, you will always find colleagues ready to share their knowledge and help you succeed. That collaborative environment makes Candela a great place to learn and grow.
How does your role impact Candela's mission?
As a Quality Technician working with both incoming and production quality, I believe my role has a direct impact on Candela's mission and success. Quality is fundamental to building reliable, safe, and high-performing products. By ensuring that supplier components meet requirements and by supporting quality improvements within production, I help reduce risks, improve efficiency, and contribute to delivering the level of quality our customers expect. Every improvement in quality helps strengthen trust in our products and supports Candela's goal of revolutionizing sustainable waterborne transportation.
What would you tell someone who's thinking about joining the team?
Candela is a fantastic place for people who enjoy hands-on work, solving challenges, and continuously learning new things. The company offers opportunities to develop both technically and professionally, regardless of your background or previous experience. What makes Candela special is the combination of talented people, a collaborative culture, and a mission that aims to make a positive impact on the world. If you are curious, motivated, and eager to contribute, you will find plenty of opportunities to grow while helping create innovative solutions that benefit both people and the environment.
