DevOps Machine Learning intern
Candela’s ultimate purpose is to speed up the transition to fossil fuel-free lakes and oceans. We strive to re-think efficiency in marine transportation to radically push the performance boundaries of electric boats and ships.
By combining sensors, computers and advanced submerged hydrofoils, our electric craft fly above the water, reaching speeds and range previously attained only by fossil fuel powerboats.
After launching Candela C-7, Europe’s currently best-selling electric boat, we launched Candela C-8 in August 2021, the first electric boat intended for high volume production. We are also venturing into public transport with the revolutionary foiling P-30 ferry, built for the city of Stockholm.
We are now looking for a DevOps Machine Learning intern to support Candela’s growth ambitions.
Core responsibilities
You will join an international team of high performing and highly dedicated autonomous driving engineers working on developing state of the art deep learning models that will shape the future of boating and transportation. Core responsibilities include:
- Setting up environments for software deployment
- Design pipelines and procedures for automating deployments, tests and code integration
- Establish an informed comparison between different DevOps solutions and providers applied to our specific context (autonomous driving research)
- Optimizing and automating the machine learning life-cycle of the solutions (data gathering, labeling, training, and continuous monitoring and improvement)
To be successful in the role
We are looking for a dedicated computer nerd! You can be an auto-didact or have academic or industrial experience in ops/devops and preferably also some software engineering. We’re looking for someone who has knowledge of system operations, Linux systems and who enjoys being surrounded by many different devices, coordinating them and building operational pipelines. The ideal candidate must be a true goal oriented problem solver and have:
- Deep knowledge in system operations
- Linux, Docker, ARM, python, github, github actions

The position is a summer internship at our facility in Lidingö/Frihamnen. Apart from the experience you will get from working alongside our stellar team of researchers and engineers, you will also be rewarded with a symbolic sum for the internship period. The working language is English, if you also know Swedish it will be a benefit for yourself, but it is not a prerequisite for the role.
